Many things are significant about Singapore, in this post I will talk about one and that is how they managed to have vast green spaces. The total population of Singapore is around 5 million, with landmass area of 720square KM. It used to be around 500 square km before they reclaimed land from the sea by filling it with sand and rocks to build new land and that’s where most of the high rise buildings are currently located. Keep in mind that only 50% of the total land mass is occupied. It was clear when I was traveling on the bus on the way to the zoo and pretty much all the way to the borders with Malaysia, all what you see is just green trees and pure lakes. By the way, the total distance from the borders with Malaysia all the way to the far south is around 40KM, so it’s really a city/small country.

The zoo is very clean very well maintained, I didn’t post many of the pictures I took. I also went on a night safari but it was disappointing. When I thought of a safari, I thought it will be a lion chasing a deer, but nothing like that. It was only tram/bus tour; we were not allowed to use flash, which meant no way to take good pictures. I still enjoyed the day but was very tired when I got back around 11PM.
