My brother had an Indonesian housekeeper/babysitter for 3 and half years, her name is Moufleha. I decided to visit Moufleha and her family, while in Indonesia and it would be a great opportunity to learn and experience more the Indonesian culture. After spending the night in Semarang, a big city of about 2 million, I head out early to go to Rambang, a little city 5 hours north of Semerang the city where I spent the night. I was trying to call Moufleha but no one was able to figure out how to call the number I had, and I was sure the number was correct. While walking to go take the bus I stopped by another big hotel called Dafam hotel asking them if I could use their phone. I was very lucky, at Dafam I met a very kind and helpful girl her name Selvie. She really took the time to try so many things to call the number. Then her boss Billy walked in, who’s not only the manager but also the owner. He even tried personally to assist me, I was really amazed at how much time they’ve had spend to assist me, although I wasn’t staying at their facility. Not only that, he allowed me to use the internet and told me that his driver will take me to the bus station. I was really speechless by their generosity. I finally got the correct phone number and then Selvie spoke to Moufleha and got the detailed address. I left Dafam hotel thinking of another experience about the amazing people of Indonesia. Everywhere I go I meet amazing and wonderful people. Traveling in a different country with different culture and different language has a lot of challenges, and people make all the difference. The Indonesians that I met throughout this trip has made my experience very pleasurable, and I am already planning to come back here to Indonesia to visit again in the future.
