Yesterday I went to Yehliu; it’s a little town about 1.5 hours from Taipei. It’s now part of the new Taipei City. I took the bus and I told the driver that I needed to get to Yehliu when I handed him the ticket, I later realized he didn’t understand me. I wasn’t sure when to ask the driver to stop because all the signs were in English but I was lucky when I asked the passengers next to me, although no one spoke English but they understood that I wanted to get to Yehliu. So I missed one stop I just had to walk few minutes. It’s part of traveling and I expected that I will get lost, in fact, almost every time I go to a new place I get lost. It helps to be patient and calm especially in these situations.
Once I arrived in Yehliu, I headed directly to Yehliu Geo Park. Pretty much the whole town economy depends on the tourists who come to visit the Geo Park. Basically the park surrounds the rocks that have been formed through erosion over thousands of years. The entrance to the park is less than the equivalent of $2. It’s something I noticed in Taiwan, they make the entrance fees to places like these very affordable.
The Geo Park contains rocks in the shape of mushrooms, I will let you enjoy the pictures they speak for themselves about these magnificent rocks and how beautiful nature is.
