Since I came back from Guatemala I’ve been very busy with work. I wish I could have spent more time there but I had to go back for a new job I was about to start. I haven’t got the chance to finish posting my last few days of my visit to Guatemala, so here we go.

I rushed through the last few days of my trip and sometimes I feel when I visit a country that one day I am going to go back to visit it again so I don’t mind if I didn’t get to see everything I wanted to see. But by now I have a long list of countries that I’d like to revisit:-)

I planned to go to Lake Attitlan and since I usually take what’sknown as the chicken buses, I asked a passenger who was sitting behind me if it was the right bus to go to Panajachel, it’s the town where I will be catching a bus to get to the Lake. He explained to me that it is, but I have to get off the bus along the way on an intersection to take another bus. He kept updating me along the way on how soon we will get to our destination. Once we arrived at an intersection, he told me to get off the bus and take another one.  So I did, then this woman behind me who was with her little daughter was saying this is the bus and I approached the bus she said don’t take it, it will be full. She explained to me that she too is going to Panajachel, I didn’t know how she knew I was going to Lake Atitlan. The next bus came and I got on the bus with her and her daughter, we arrived at Panajachel and we got off, she told me that I need to take another bus to get to Lake Attitlan, my final destination. I told her I am going to go have lunch and I asked her if she would like to join me and her daughter for lunch. She accepted and we ate together and chatted a little. I asked her how she knew I was coming here. She said she was sitting behind me on the first bus and she heard the man who was helping me earlier to get to my destination, so she continued helping me after we got off the bus because she knew I was a foreigner.

I decided to spend some time in the town Panajachel and we parted ways. I stayed back in Panjachel and walked around a little before I took the bus to the beautiful Lake Attitlan. I stayed one day at Lake Attitlan, I started to realize that I getting close to go backto Canada because of work. But I thought I will continue to seeanother major city Quetzaltenango or as the locals call it xela(SHAY-la). Since it’s located North-West I can continue after that to Mexico andtake my flight back from Mexico. This was my original plan, but I only went to Quetzaltenango and spent one day and went back to Guatemala city to catch my flight back to Canada.

I thought I had some pictures of Lake Attitlan and Quetzaltenango but I can’t seem to find them.  So this post will have no pictures unless I found them.
