The other day I went to Maokong, it’s located in the south part of the city. The whole trip was amazing especially the gondola ride; it offers a breathtaking view of the southern part of the city of Taipei. The gondola is very high and the ride is long. At its highest point, it can be at more than 300 meters and you could feel the wind blowing the gondola. I was impressed to see a lady who’s 83 years old, she was not afraid and took the ride with her daughters and grand daughters (see her picture).
The view is just amazing. Once reached the top of the mountain, there were many tea houses. I got to see tea plants, at the tea promoting center, they offered me free tea and I saw the tea preparation process from the time it’s planted until it’s ready to drink, very interesting. I then went to the Taoist temple called Zhinan temple, very beautiful temple. I just like how Taipei has maintained a strong tradition mixed with a modern and advanced city. After spending few hours I took the gondola down to see the “dancing water”. It’s a water fountain with a theme music and lighting. It’s now around 9AM and it’s time for me to go hiking up the mountain.
